Cooking with Children

That's cooking along with children, not actually using the tykes as an ingredient.
One of our favorite things to do is plan the night before what we might want for dinner in the next day or two. This turns into a fun game at the grocery of "you picked it, you gotta eat it."

It can quickly turn into the equivalent of kitchen-chicken, however, as one sibling tries to outdo the other. It's almost like watching two mini producers see what they'll tempt Andrew Zimmern with on an episode of Bizarre Foods.

I'm headed out later today to see if any of the hot new cookbooks have made it into our areas. My collection, purged annually, hovers around 70, but I'm always looking for new stuff.
